When it’s about unusual and innovative architectonic styles, Spain is definitely one of the beacon of inventiveness.
From the Colonial Revival Style to the combination of minimalism and industrial elements for depicting a new gothic form, Spanish architecture has gifted to the world amazing pieces of art. Architects like Gaudi, Cadafalch and Palacio have marked the history and contributed to attracting tourists and real estate investors globally.
Home buyers looking at the Spanish scenario often ends up being fazed by the number of special, detail-filled houses, wondering how incredible their dreams’ home could be.
Spain has left a big cultural mark in terms of art and architecture.
In fact, thanks to the flourishing Spanish culture, more and more people are incentivized to buy and sell properties in Spain.
Here are three of the most special houses in Spain, symbols of a naturalistic but lavish lifestyle.
The house on the cliff
Definitely one of the most famous and craziest modern houses in Spain. The architects chose to build this house on a cliff in Granada, excavating the cliff in the Salobreña’s natural panorama.
The roofs resemble a dragon skin on top of sea waves, in a peculiar blend of modern and naturalistic style.
Eventually, the surface extends for 250 sq meters on two floors.
The (other) house on the cliff
Speaking of cliffs and sea views, this more modern-looking property looks literally nestled in the rocks. It faces the Balearic sea, and stands out with cement slabs on one level.
The house is on a cliff, but the architect wanted to reduce the depth of the excavation. In fact, we can see the use of concrete and stucco to create a one-piece building.
It has a clean white aesthetic and a 18 meters long balcony, and a pool and a terrace on the ground level.
The crossed house
Located in Murcia, this two-stories house has a distinctive characteristic: the two floors form the shape of an X, with the upper one rotated by 35 degrees, which gives a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains.
The glass walls let us peep on the interior, which has a wood-themed style and a luxurious aspect.
Finally, it has a fantastic solar exposure and great disposition, which leaves room for other construction works.
There are plenty of houses for sale on the Spanish territory. If you are planning to buy a house and make artistic renovation, you can start checking out this dedicated page.
