Kitchen and living room together

Here are the solutions

The common areas have also become a must have in our homes, to the point of combining the kitchen and living room together. Two rooms tend to be separated, today they are a single environment, subject to the study of many interior designers. The living room is the meeting place par excellence. The environment in which the whole family gathers during the day. The kitchen is undoubtedly the area dedicated to creativity. Combining these two concepts, means giving life to a much better environment, which can make the difference if organized in the best way.
Today, we have decided to give you some ideas to create a truly welcoming and modern environment!
So if you are ready, we can get started!

Kitchen and living room together

The most classic

Let’s start from the most classic project, designed by architect Tarantelli. Why is this project defined less modern ? Because even though it creates a unique space, it does not include the demolition of the partition between the two rooms. The solution in fact, provides a simple replacement of the same with a peninsula with a large counter. In this way you will obtain a portion of wall ”communicating” such as to join the two rooms that will remain equally distinct. An economic solution, but still useful. The partition will become a decorative element. You can paint it with a bright color or even cover it with wallpaper. For lovers of rustial, remember the option of glazed tiles.

Let’s tear down the walls!

A very different solution is the following. What is the substance of this second project ? The watchword is demolition ! The objective is to enlarge the pre-constructed spaces. The designer Nathania demolishes every partition wall and creates a conceptually open area. The key element is the L-shaped peninsula in front of the living area. Below which it is advisable to insert stools. The result will be twofold : both in terms of aesthetics but also in terms of space recovery !
Space at a minimum, space at a maximum !

Scandinavian proposal: kitchen and living room together

The last proposal we are going to present you is that of the Iranian designer Ghazal Khahsari. Despite her origins, the designer follows a much more Scandinavian line in her design. A minimalist style, oriented to the elimination of any form of encumbrance and minimizing the necessary pieces. The peninsula, previously adopted in other projects, is totally replaced by a central island. In this way there will be ample movement and space both visually and physically.

The secret of this project lies in the maximum fluidity and harmony of the environment. The only elements that mark the boundary between the living room and the kitchen, are represented by the thin decorative wooden planks that ”connect” the same wall but painted with different colors. A truly innovative key, and with a very minimal investment of resources. Just play on colours (as neutral as possible) to delimit the different areas (but still united). A sort of chromatic division but not environmental! What can I say, we like it very much!

And you, what solution will you adopt to combine kitchen and living room together?
