Home floors

5 economic solutions

New Year , new life , also for the home floors ! That’s why we have decided to edit, today, a column focused on which type of floors to choose to improve the look of the house. Without spending a fortune! It doesn’t seem so, but totally changing the floors of the house can be a valid help to revolutionize the home environment. So, if you, too, want to inaugurate the new year with a whole new style, all you have to do is read the next lines!

Additional floor : vinyl

A real revolution in the world of flooring is that represented by vinyl. A very valid alternative to be adopted on home floors. What is it ?
These are floors that are placed on a base that must be well levelled. This means that the surface is much more resistant, not only hypoallergenic, but also able to guarantee acoustic insulation! But what sizes are available ?
Blade, tile and roll are the ones that go for the most. Installed with a snap system or simply with an adhesive application, they have started to take root in the world of home deco. There are also simulations of stone, slate and even concrete!
The wood, of course, goes for the most. The convenience of this type is that they do not present difficulties in cleaning the house. Depending on the model, they can be simply washed with water and any neutral soap. In addition, it is not always necessary to lower the frames and doors. Speed of installation and cost-effectiveness!

Microcement

Provided that the previous floor is leveled, again, we find a solution that is easy to apply. The microcement ! Not recommended only for wood, as over the years it could expand and create problems, although it is not the cheapest option, it is extremely advantageous. First of all, we are talking about a really ridiculous thickness.
The colour is not only the classic grey. There is a wide range of colours and, above all, finishes. The durability is guaranteed and can be easily restored.

make up of the house

Ceramics : the ultra-thin

Although it may seem strange, even today it is possible to install ceramic flooring. All this directly on your old floor, which is why this type of technique is defined as dry work. With a minimum thickness, it will also be the most economical solution, considering that it will not be necessary to finish the doors. A quick work, with many finishes available.

The cheapest: linoleum

We’re not talking about new material. Yet many people don’t know it. Linoleum is composed of environmentally friendly fibres, such as linseed oil and jute. It is ideal for making our home more modern and above all eco-sustainable. Not recommended only near continuous heat sources, such as near fireplaces, is part of very low cost renovations. It does not have the same durability as other “plastic” floors, but we will benefit in sustainability!

And you, which floors in the house will you decide to apply?
