What about Usa and rent ? It is not new that the pandemic situation has caused quite a few problems in all sectors of the economy. No nation has been spared, and the United States, at present, has gone from being the least affected nation to being the most in crisis. While in most countries, many measures have been taken both to contain the virus and to help people economically, the same cannot be said for the United States.
In fact, a protest broke out on exactly three May last. Who was involved? Why, above all?
Today we will try to find out together, obviously by reading the next few lines!
If you are ready, we can begin!
Where did the protest come from? The focus is unique: the relationship between the USA and rents. Yes, it is. In spite of the forecasts, adequate policies have not been applied in order to be able to meet the citizens.
The hashtag #cancelrent has become the slogan of the protest, which has seen millions of citizens against the government in major American cities.
The aim is to suspend rent payments until the pandemic has reduced the damage. The economy is suffering greatly, and with it the psychological health of the citizens.
But how did the protest that has further distorted the already precarious situation in the USA come about? In the most American way possible: through the social media. So it was enough to organize everything through various social platforms. The objective is not that difficult to achieve. If it were not for the fact that many people consider this potential state intervention unconstitutional.
But how serious was the setback for the lease contracts? Certainly less than the market for buying and selling. The office sector, the retail sector and last but not least the residential sector, saw prices plummet as demand fell to historic lows.
We are talking about 70% less than in the same period last year. So it is not surprising that, even when the rental market goes into crisis, there is considerable popular discontent.
The whole thing, however, is fundamentally focused on the government line taken by Trump. A sort of hard power that leaves little room for free interpretation. And this is starting to affect the whole society. At every level.
This also leads, as we have already anticipated in previous guides, to an underlying insecurity. That leads to the estrangement of the potential investor from the reference real estate market.
So how will the protest that broke out in the US evolve? Will the United States take the measures so hoped for by its citizens to deal with this crisis? And will the pandemic leave the real-estate sector with a long lasting legacy? To answer these questions, all you have to do is keep up to date on our portal!
