The beautiful Italy and the Italian brick have often been under the eye of tourists and investors, a wonderful and varied peninsula with many features that extend from North to South. As is well known, in Europe, Italy has recently been in the eye of the storm. Because of the Covid emergency, many municipalities have decided, for obvious necessity, to sell the houses in the historic center at a symbolic price. Trying to revalorize the area and to allow the economy to circulate. But if we have addressed this issue in previous guides, today we will change our perspective. We will analyse how Italian investors are dealing with local and international real estate.
So, if you are curious to know more, we can start!
The number we must bear in mind is as follows: EURÂ 1.13Â billion more than in 2019. This is the figure that represents the total disbursed to potential investors by credit institutions. Obviously only by calculating the total disbursed for the purchase of a property. Good news like this, however, was more than evident already at the beginning of the year. And, although the numbers have obviously fallen, due to the forced closure, better known as lockdown, the Italian situation bodes well.
What will this situation have in the more or less immediate future? As always, it is not easy to give a complete and, above all, realistic picture so far in advance, and given that this is a very specific part of the market, the situation becomes more complicated. But basically, the whole thing bodes well. Not only because the economy has never stopped, but because it is the Italians themselves who want to invest their savings in real estate. As we anticipated in the introduction, there are many magical places of this land, especially in the south, there are many picturesque areas where international celebrities have decided to invest, this has led, for years now, to give new light to the South of Italy. Similar situation in the North, where the large presence of industrial areas, guarantees the peninsula to be an excellent revenue basin. Both workforce, but also production activities connected at international level with other realities.
In conclusion, we can broadly define the atypical Italian situation. Despite the crisis, the real estate world has not stopped. Neither on the supply side nor on the demand side. It has guaranteed a truly interesting continuum. Will the peninsula succeed in emerging again? We need time to find out more. Especially hoping that the lockdown will be a distant memory.
