Decorating with the 5 senses

Here’s how

Decorating a house could be a challenge, but it can also be fun if you furnish with the 5 senses.
As you know, when we produce our guides, we always try to combine economy and style. This is how it will be today! So if you’re tired of your usual home and want to modernise it, don’t despair. We have just the solution for you. A new way of furnishing. A new fashion. That is, to exploit our five senses. So, if you’re looking forward to finding out more, we’ll start our mini guide to home deco. Decorating with the five senses will be fun, innovative and super cheap. Let’s get started!

View

The first of the five senses we’re going to look at is sight. Perhaps one of the most important when it comes to colour balance in a room. Well, if you want your home to look good, go for three elements:

  • Width
  • Depth
  • Small spaces

To find something that can enhance these three parameters, you simply have to focus on mirrors. They provide extreme depth even in the smallest of rooms. They also fill and transmit light even in the darkest rooms. If well positioned, of course.

Touch

One of the senses we all use most is touch. Especially in the process of choosing any object. So we play with fabrics and materials. For example, shabby chic cushions, with fringes or covered in soft fabrics. Or curtains. There are curtains that are naturally wrinkled, which can provide both a pleasant feel and modernity to the room. Don’t forget the bath towels and sheets with bed covers. All these elements will turn your home upside down.

Decorating with the 5 senses

Smell

Another very important sense is the sense of smell. Here, we won’t mince words. We recommend the use of room diffusers. There are many different types and styles. Modern ones with built-in lights or more traditional ones. In both cases, we recommend that you don’t choose fragrances that are too strong or invasive. They can be nauseating in the long run. So always choose light fragrances that can give character to your home. Without overpowering it!

Hearing

This is perhaps the least important of the 5 senses when decorating your home. Not everyone likes to have background music playing constantly throughout the day. But it might be a good idea when you have guests in the house. Another element to experiment with is the sounds and noises of nature. Ideal for proper relaxation. You can find a lot of applications dedicated to acoustic relaxation. So why not try them out?

Taste

Here’s the last of the five senses to decorate your home. Taste. How do you do it? You might ask yourself. You don’t always have to be ready at the cooker. But all you need to do is, once you have prepared or bought some extremely fragrant biscuits or cakes, serve them to your guests. Or give yourself a moment of taste and well-deserved relaxation! Along with the other 5 senses used to decorate your home!
