The Bridgerton style

Even in real estate!

Raise your hand if you’ve seen the Netflix series “Bridgerton”. We can’t see you, but we’re sure there are plenty of you who have. Although we don’t have any hard data on this, the statistics speak for themselves: a lot of people have wanted to recreate the same setting as the film in their own homes. A real fashion that is going crazy in the real estate and home decoration sector. For this reason, we have decided to tell you about this absolute novelty, also giving you some advice on how to take inspiration from the most popular series of the moment.

The Bridgerton style

First of all, let’s try to understand the era of reference. We are talking about the 19th century. The romantic atmosphere reigns supreme, together with a refined taste in furnishings. In every detail. What we are now seeing in the homes of the most avid fans of the series is therefore a return to these timeless elements:

  • The patterned wallpaper
  • Wooden and marble furniture
  • super damask fabrics
  • embroidered lace curtains
  • carpets and tapestries
  • natural palettes
The Bridgerton style

But if in the 19th century it was customary to find these elements in the home, now the need is different. That of converging this style with the existing one. Unless you already have a house with antique decorations, it seems almost impossible to link the Bridgerton style with the modern. But we at Realigro, have decided to make this possible by giving you a few tips before the 19th century revolution in your home.

Some tips

First of all, the focal point of this style is the balance between elegance and opulence. So we recommend that in the case of patterned wallpaper, you keep colours muted and patterns monochrome, simple and essential. If your house allows it, having wooden furniture and a floor of the same colour, you can instead indulge in fantasies.

In the case of damask fabrics, always try to look at the rest of the house. If you already have too many styles and colours, go for light-coloured fabrics. But enriched with precious elements such as lace or damask reliefs. On the other hand, if your furniture is made of wood and marble, you can opt for double curtains in stronger colours, such as gold and ivory.

Still on the subject of fabrics, for those who want a simple reference to the 1800s without exaggerating, you can use the furnishing accessories par excellence: cushions! Often combined with the same patterns as the curtains, cushions can be a valuable ally in the mission to remake your home in Bridgerton style. Go for gold combined with blue and cream. But also green with red and ivory. In short, you can really indulge yourself here.

At the end of this mini-guide, we would like to remind you that, regardless of trends, it is important to feel “yours” in your own home. Don’t forget that your home is a projection of your soul. So don’t go overboard to follow a fashion trend. But let the home be perfectly in tune with your personality!
